How Liverpool could line up against Burnley

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Wednesday's must-win Premier League match against Burnley at Turf Moor.

Liverpool have been struck by two fresh injury blows ahead of Wednesday's must-win Premier League showdown with Burnley at Turf Moor.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that both Diogo Jota and Ozan Kabak are unlikely to feature again this season, leaving the Reds without up to 10 players for the midweek trip to Burnley.

Jota suffered a foot injury in the recent win at Manchester United, while Kabak may have already played his final game for the club having only joined on loan in January.

Kabak is one of five central defenders on the Liverpool treatment table, with Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Ben Davies all missing the closing stages of the season too.

Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams have partnered up at the heart of the defence in recent weeks and are likely to do so again here, allowing Fabinho to remain in midfield.

Behind them, Alisson Becker will start again having become the most unlikely goalscoring saviour in Liverpool history with his iconic winner against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

Changes to the starting XI from that game could be scarce, although Georginio Wijnaldum will be pushing for a recall having been rested at The Hawthorns.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be back in contention after illness, but fellow midfielder Naby Keita is sidelined and James Milner is doubtful having only returned to training on Tuesday.

Jota's absence means that there are unlikely to be any changes to the front three, where Mohamed Salah will be looking to enhance his Golden Boot chances.

The Egyptian is currently level with Harry Kane on 22 goals, which have earned Liverpool 16 points this season - more than any other player has earned for their side in the Premier League.

However, he is without a goal in his last five meetings with the Clarets, which is his longest goalless run against any specific opponent in the Premier League.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, R Williams, Phillips, Robertson; Thiago, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
