Jurgen Klopp provides reassuring update on Mohamed Salah injury

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp provides a reassuring update on the foot injury that Mohamed Salah suffered in Saturday's win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has downplayed the seriousness of Mohamed Salah's injury after the Egypt international was taken off against Brighton & Hove Albion with a foot issue.

Salah blasted home from 12 yards after Yves Bissouma's handball to add to Luis Diaz's opener in a 2-0 win for the Reds but had to be replaced just after the hour mark by Diogo Jota.

The ex-Chelsea and Roma man was pictured on the turf clutching his foot, but Klopp does not think that the issue will keep him sidelined for a long period of time.

Speaking to BT Sport after the win, Klopp said: "We will see. He thinks it's not serious but you can see when Mo Salah is sitting down then something is not 100% right.

"I think it was the situation before when he hit the ball and got blocked – he wanted to shoot and got blocked and I think the foot got slightly overstretched. We have to see."

Liverpool have now closed the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City back to three points before the reigning champions take on Crystal Palace on Monday night. body check tags ::
