Lucas Hernandez: 'France can cope with Eden Hazard'

France defender Lucas Hernandez insists that his team can deal with the threat of Belgium's Eden Hazard in their 2018 World Cup semi-final.

France defender Lucas Hernandez has insisted that his team can deal with the threat of Belgium's Eden Hazard in their 2018 World Cup semi-final on Tuesday night.

Les Bleus booked their spot in the final four of this summer's competition by beating Uruguay on Friday afternoon, before Belgium overcame pre-tournament favourites Brazil.

Hernandez has claimed that France's ability to deal with Lionel Messi in their last-16 clash against Argentina means that they will not be afraid of taking on Belgium captain Hazard.

"We have already eliminated the best player in the world (Messi) against Argentina. He didn't touch the ball. That's the truth," Hernandez told reporters. "Against Belgium we also have the players to make sure Hazard touches the ball as little as possible."

Belgium and France last locked horns in an international friendly back in June 2015, and it was the Red Devils that recorded a 4-3 win.
