GOALKEEPER

Jan Oblak

At this point in time, a stellar campaign from Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak comes as no surprise whatsoever, with the 28-year-old stopper having cemented himself as one of the elite players in his position worldwide.

In his seventh season at the club, Oblak finally secured his first La Liga title with Atletico Madrid, hugely helping his side to the trophy with 18 clean sheets in 38 league games, while only conceding 25 goals in that time.

With a 96 overall rating, Oblak is only matched by Manuel Neuer on the game, while his 96 diving and 97 handling makes him the most desirable player between the sticks.

DEFENDERS

Joao Cancelo - RB

Despite being rotated at times throughout the season, Cancelo has undoubtedly put himself amongst the strongest full-backs in both the Premier League and Europe.

Manchester City boasted the best defence in the Premier League this campaign, while Cancelo also contributed to their attack with two goals and three assists, helping him to a well-rounded card with 92 dribbling and 88 defending.

Stefan de Vrij - CB

Inter Milan collected their first Serie A title in 11 years this season, and that was in no small part down to their solid defensive record, with their 35 goals conceded fewer than any other side in the Italian top flight.

At the heart of that back line was 29-year-old Dutch centre-back Stefan de Vrij, who featured in 32 of their 38 league games, tying the defence together.

He has been rewarded with a tantalisingly well-rounded card, boasting a 94 defence rating alongside 83 pace, while his 80 passing and 81 dribbling makes him a great asset on the ball too, definitely one to add to your team.

Theo Hernandez - LB

One of the big mysteries to come out of the Euro 2020 squad announcements was the surprise exclusion of AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez from the France squad, given his impressive season in Italy.

The 23-year-old was a crucial cog in a rejuvenated Rossoneri outfit, helping them to a second-placed finish with seven goals and six assists in 33 league appearances from left-back.

As a result, Hernandez boasts an excellent boosted card, with 90 defending, 91 passing, 93 dribbling and 99 pace.

MIDFIELDERS

Joshua Kimmich - CDM

Since his move from the back four into the middle over the last few seasons, Kimmich has established himself as one of the world's strongest centre-midfielders, being one of the first names on the Bayern Munich teamsheet.

Despite missing 11 games over the course of the season through injury, the 26-year-old registered four goals and 10 assists in league action as the Bavarians won their ninth consecutive Bundesliga title.

With every stat exceeding 85 on his new card, Kimmich is a must-have for your midfield, especially considering his 95 dribbling and 95 passing.

Kevin De Bruyne - CM

Even with hamstring injuries putting the Belgian out for periods of the season, Kevin De Bruyne definitely picked up his fair share of accolades over the course of the campaign, having made himself the key man in a thriving Manchester City outfit.

The midfielder helped his side to win the Premier League and the Carabao cup, while also reaching the Champions League final, as he recorded 10 goals and 18 assists in all competitions for his club, securing his second consecutive PFA Players' Player of the Year as a result as well as featuring in the Champions League Squad of the Season for the fourth straight campaign.

With an eye-catching 97 passing coupled with 93 dribbling and 93 shooting, you could do a lot worse than have the Belgian talisman as the creative hub in your side.

Bruno Fernandes - CAM

After an eye-catching end to last season following his move from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United in January 2020, there were doubts over whether Bruno Fernandes could continue his fine form in the final third this campaign, but the Portuguese midfielder has well and truly answered those questions.

The key man in a Manchester United side that finished second in the Premier League, Fernandes put up an excellent tally of 18 goals and 11 assists in 37 appearances in the English top flight, picking up the league Player of the Month award in both November and December as a result.

Jonathan Bamba - LM

Perhaps the surprise inclusion of this 15-man squad, but Bamba did earn his spot with a standout season in France, as Lille defied all odds to pip Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title.

Having featured in every league game throughout the season, the Frenchman netted six goals alongside 11 assists to fire his side to an unlikely title, and he only missed out on Euro 2020 due to his national squad's huge depth of talent in the final third.

FORWARDS

Harry Kane - ST

In an underwhelming Tottenham Hotspur side, Harry Kane again stood out as the Premier League's elite striker, dragging his side up to a seventh-placed finish.

With an eye-catching tally of 23 goals and 14 assists in 35 league outings, the English forward led the league for both metrics, picking up the Golden Boot and the Playmaker of the Season award as a result, meaning Kane secures a 96-rated Team of the Season card with 97 shooting and 92 passing.

Romelu Lukaku - ST

The talisman of the title-winning Inter Milan side, Romelu Lukaku fired Antonio Conte's men to their 19th Scudetto with 24 goals and 10 assists in 36 Serie A appearances.

Securing the MVP along the way, the Belgian forward has earned himself a tantalising card with 94 dribbling, 95 pace and 97 shooting, making him one of the toughest players to defend against on the game.

Kylian Mbappe - ST

Young Frenchman Kylian Mbappe continued his meteoric rise this season, with another stellar campaign for Paris Saint-Germain.

The 22-year-old finished at the top of the Ligue 1 scoring charts with 27 goals in 31 league games, while also recording seven assists, meaning he boasts an excellent 97-rated card with 99 pace, 97 dribbling and 94 shooting.

Robert Lewandowski - ST

After several years of narrowly missing out, Robert Lewandowski may have finally secured his first Ballon d'Or with a record-breaking season for Bayern Munich, as he broke Gerd Muller's Bundesliga scoring record with 41 goals in 29 league appearances in an injury-stricken campaign.

That unmatched tally, combined with seven assists, means that the 32-year-old has arguably been the most impressive forward worldwide this season, and he has been rewarded with a 98-rated card, level with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, with 95 dribbling and 97 shooting.

Cristiano Ronaldo - ST

Despite reaching the age of 36, Cristiano Ronaldo has shown no signs of slowing down whatsoever, having netted 29 goals in 32 Serie A appearances for a struggling Juventus side.

With five more goals than any other player in the Italian top flight, the Portuguese talisman has shown that he is still firmly among the world's best players, and his latest Team of the Season card reflects that with a 98 rating and a 99 shooting stat alongside 95 pace and 95 dribbling.

Lionel Messi - ST

The other man remaining at the top of the game despite an influx of young stars is Lionel Messi, who again stood out for his boyhood club FC Barcelona with 30 goals and 11 assists in 35 La Liga appearances.

In an underwhelming spell for the Catalan outfit, having fallen short of the league title in two consecutive seasons, Messi has been reliable as ever, dragging his side up the table with an incredible run of 16 goals and six assists in 11 games over the course of January, February and March, as the Argentinian captain almost single-handedly dragged his side into the title race.

Also boasting a 98-rated card, Messi possesses the maximum 99 stat in both shooting and dribbling, making him the ideal pick from this crop of Team of the Season players, and definitely one to add to your side.
