The Danish Football Association has confirmed that Christian Eriksen remains stable in hospital, and that he has sent his greetings to his teammates.

Eriksen suffered a suspected cardiac arrest shortly before half time during Saturday's Euro 2020 Group B clash between Denmark and Finland, collapsing to the ground with no player around him.

The Inter Milan playmaker required lengthy treatment, including CPR, on the pitch as his Danish teammates formed a shield to block the worrying scenes from being viewed.

However, positive updates were revealed later on Tuesday, with Eriksen returning to consciousness and being stabilised in hospital, and the Danish Football Association have now confirmed that he has been in contact with the 29-year-old.

A statement also confirmed that players and staff received "crisis assistance" in the wake of the incident.

"Latest news: This morning we have spoken to Christian Eriksen, who has sent his greetings to his teammates. His condition is stable, and he continues to be hospitalized for further examination," read the statement.

"The team and staff of the national team has received crisis assistance and will continue to be there for each other after yesterday's incident.

"We would like to thank everyone for the heartfelt greeting to Christian Eriksen from fans, players, the Royal Families from both Denmark and England, international associations, clubs etc.

"We encourage everyone to send their greetings to the Danish FA, where we will make sure they are all passed on to Christian and his family."

The match was eventually finished after being granted Eriksen's blessing, with Finland beating Denmark 1-0. body check tags ::
