Head coach Thomas Tuchel suggests that he will give consideration to keeping recalled wide player Kenedy in his squad for the second half of the season.

Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has challenged Kenedy to make a positive impression on his return to Stamford Bridge.

The versatile Brazilian has been recalled from his loan spell at Flamengo, where he was restricted to four starts and 10 substitute appearances in the top flight.

While another loan spell for the 25-year-old remains a possibility, Tuchel has acknowledged that the wide player is in his thoughts as possible cover for Ben Chilwell for the remainder of the season.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Tuchel said: "Kenedy is back and I am very happy about it. It is a huge, huge opportunity for him to make his mark at this club and in this team. We will try from today onwards to push and support him as much as we can.

"We cannot say that Kenedy is the solution, but he can be a solution. The situation has not changed. We have long-term injuries at wing-back."

Since joining Chelsea in 2015, Kenedy has spent six loan spells away from the club, his last first-team appearance in a Blues shirt coming in January 2018. body check tags ::
