Maurizio Sarri considering Eden Hazard for Chelsea captaincy?

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is reportedly considering making Eden Hazard captain in an attempt to convince the Belgian to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is reportedly considering making Eden Hazard captain in an attempt to convince the Belgian to remain at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have allegedly told interested clubs - including Barcelona and Real Madrid - that World Cup semi-finalist Hazard, who has been linked with a move away, will cost £200m in the current transfer window.

According to The Mirror, Sarri's next move in a bid to keep hold of Hazard is to offer him the role of captain, with the Italian boss reportedly determined to ignore interest from the La Liga duo.

The newspaper says that while Sarri has not finalised his decision, Hazard is a strong contender to be skipper alongside Cesc Fabregas and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Hazard, who has two years left on his current deal, has reportedly been offered an extension.
