Chelsea are reportedly ready to push through a £20m deal for CSKA Moscow forward Fedor Chalov during the January transfer window.

Chelsea reportedly intend to make an official approach for CSKA Moscow forward Fedor Chalov.

With Chelsea now able to sign new players during the January transfer window, Frank Lampard intends to bring in at least one new face at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, who is said to have a release clause which is active at the beginning of 2020.

However, according to The Express, Chalov is regarded as a more realistic arrival with the West Londoners prepared to make a £20m bid.

While the 21-year-old has only contributed six goals and two assists from 25 outings this campaign, there is a feeling that the Russia international would be a success in the Premier League.

Should he sign for Chelsea, Chalov would compete with Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi for a starting role, with Olivier Giroud expected to leave in the coming weeks.
