Chelsea are allegedly becoming increasingly confident that Andreas Christensen will sign a new deal at the club.

The 25-year-old's existing terms with the Blues are due to expire next June, and a recent report claimed that discussions between the two parties over an extension had reached a standstill.

However, according to Football Insider, Chelsea are now confident that the Denmark international will pen a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge in the near future.

The report claims that the Champions League holders are in talks with Christensen's father, and there is now a strong belief that an agreement will be reached.

Christensen, who is said to be determined to commit his future to the club, has been an important player for the Blues this season, making 10 appearances in all competitions.

The centre-back spent two years on loan in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach before returning to Stamford Bridge in 2017, and he has been a regular with Chelsea over the last four seasons. body check tags ::
