Turkish billionaire claims he has '90% chance of buying Chelsea'

Turkish billionaire Murshan Bayrak claims that he has "a 90% chance" of successfully buying Chelsea from current owner Roman Abramovich.

Turkish billionaire Murshan Bayrak has revealed that he has made an official approach to buy Chelsea.

Having announced that he will end his 19-year stay at Stamford Bridge, Roman Abramovich is seemingly being inundated with interest in the Premier League giants.

As it stands, the Blues could be sold for anything between £2.5bn and £4bn, the Russian billionaire's asking price, but the desire for a quick sale may have a negative impact on achieving that demand.

While there is said to be willing suitors from the United States and Middle East, Bayrak, the chairman of construction company AB Group, feels that he is one of the frontrunners to get a deal over the line.

Speaking to Oda TV, Bayrak said: "We have reached a certain stage. Our law and finance department will start talks with theirs in London on Thursday. That's the way it is at this point. On Thursday, we will notify the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).

"People are talking about it, we made some progress in the talks, and the world believes we have a 90% chance of completing the deal. Abramovich thinks the same."

Vivek Ranadive, the owner of the Sacramento Kings, has allegedly emerged as another candidate over the last 48 hours. body check tags ::
