Roma 'want Maurizio Sarri as head coach next season'

Roma want Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri to become their new head coach next season, according to a report.

Roma are reportedly keen for Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri to become their new head coach next season.

Sarri only took charge of Chelsea last summer following a successful period with Napoli.

The Blues made a strong start to the campaign, but their Premier League form has been inconsistent in recent months, which has seen them drop out of the Champions League positions.

The capital outfit have already lost seven times in the top flight this term, meanwhile, and it is thought that Sarri's future at Stamford Bridge is far from secure.

According to The Express, Roma have made Sarri their first choice ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign.

The Italian giants sacked Eusebio Di Francesco last month after exiting the Champions League, and Claudio Ranieri is currently leading the team until the end of the current season.

Chelsea will resume their Premier League season away to Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon.
