Jose Mourinho backs Chelsea winger Eden Hazard to succeed at Real Madrid

Jose Mourinho backs Eden Hazard to become a success at Real Madrid if the winger leaves Chelsea for the Bernabeu in the summer.

Jose Mourinho has said that Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has the ability and character to become a success at Real Madrid.

Hazard has been at Chelsea since 2012 and has worked with Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, but the playmaker has been strongly linked with a summer switch to the Bernabeu.

The situation will remain unclear until Hazard announces a decision on his future, but Mourinho has backed the Belgium international to make an impact at the La Liga outfit.

Mourinho told DAZN: "Regarding Eden's ambitions, be it playing for Chelsea his whole life or playing for a giant like Real Madrid, I can't say, because I haven't spoken to him for a long time.

"Talking of talent. Does he have the talent to play for Real Madrid? He does. Does he have the personality to wear a shirt that weighs so heavy and to play in front of a crowd like the Bernabeu? Yes, he does."

Hazard has less than 18 months remaining on his contract with the West Londoners.
