Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Chelsea could line up for Wednesday's Premier League clash with Brentford.

Chelsea will have to cope without five injured players for Wednesday's Premier League encounter with Brentford at Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard revealed at his pre-match press conference that Reece James and Mason Mount are both ruled out for the rest of the season with respective hamstring and abdominal injuries, while Kai Havertz will also miss the midweek game due to a keen problem.

Kalidou Koulibaly has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, including the 2-0 quarter-final second-leg defeat to Real Madrid last week, and Wednesday's game will come too soon for the centre-back, while Armando Broja also remains sidelined with a serious knee injury.

Meanwhile, Lampard will be able to welcome back five players who were either suspended or ineligible to face Los Blancos, with Ben Chilwell, Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and David Datro Fofana all available for selection against the Bees.

Badiashile is expected to challenge Wesley Fofana and Thiago Silva for a start at centre-back, while Chilwell will likely return to the first XI at the expense of Marc Cucurella and is set to operate at either left-back or left wing-back depending on whether Lampard sticks with a 3-5-2 formation or reverts to a four-at-the-back system.

Either Cesar Azpilicueta or Trevoh Chalobah could replace James at right-back, but Ruben Loftus-Cheek may be selected to play at right wing-back if Lampard continues with three at the back.

Enzo Fernandez, who has completed more passes (762) than any other midfielder in the Premier League since his January arrival, was joined in the middle of the pitch by N'Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Conor Gallagher last time out, but one of the latter three could make way if an attacker is recalled to the first XI.

Joao Felix is the most likely candidate to replace Havertz as the central striker, while Raheem Sterling, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, who all began on the substitutes' bench against Real Madrid, will be hoping to force their way back into the first XI on Wednesday.

Chelsea possible starting lineup: Kepa; Azpilicueta, W. Fofana, Silva, Chilwell; Kante, Fernandez, Kovacic; Mudryk, Felix, Sterling body check tags ::
