Chelsea head coach Graham Potter has revealed that three more players are expected to miss Saturday's Premier League fixture at Leicester City.

For the first time since October, the Blues have recorded successive victories, edging out Leeds United before overcoming Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Potter selected different teams for those respective fixtures, a consequence of minor injury issues and ineligibility for European competition.

Chelsea are boosted for the trip to the King Power Stadium by the likes of Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke and David Datro Fofana all coming back into contention.

However, at his pre-match press conference, Potter suggested that each of Reece James, Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would all miss out on the visit to the East Midlands.

Speaking to reporters, the Englishman said: "Reece has been ill, so hasn't trained today. He won't make the game tomorrow.

"Raheem had a little feeling in his hamstring, so looking doubtful tomorrow. Aubameyang has a slight problem with his back so he's looking like he'll miss the game."

Having completed 90 minutes on Tuesday, Potter may have opted to rest James, who had been carrying a hamstring issue ahead of the showdown with Dortmund.

Potter was also quizzed on the availability of N'Golo Kante and Mason Mount, the former having recently returned to training after hamstring surgery and the latter suffering with an abdominal issue.

In Kante's case, he could have theoretically made his return at the home of his former club, but Potter hinted that a return to the squad for next week's meeting with Everton was the best-case scenario.

Meanwhile, Potter stated that Mount will require "a little bit more time" before he is back in contention for more game time than he has received in recent weeks.

While no update was provided on Cesar Azpilicueta, the defender may be considered for a return to the squad, depending on whether he has completed concussion protocols following a head injury against Southampton on February 18.

Chelsea head into Saturday's fixture sitting in 10th position in the Premier League standings, four points adrift of ninth-placed Brentford. body check tags ::
