Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has reportedly been suffering with an Achilles issue over the past three weeks.
While the 26-year-old has made nine starts and 10 substitute appearances this season, he has played just 25 minutes of football since testing positive for coronavirus during the middle of December.
The academy graduate was also a notable absentee from the squad which travelled to Abu Dhabi for the Club World Cup last week.
According to football.london journalist Adam Newson, Loftus-Cheek has been undergoing treatment on an Achilles issue since the closing days of January.
The England international is said to have had a problem with the Achilles opposite to the one which kept him out for over a year between May 2019 and June 2020.
Although Loftus-Cheek was seen in training earlier this week, he is unlikely to come into contention for Saturday's Premier League fixture at Crystal Palace. body check tags ::
