Wednesday's Champions League predictions including Liverpool, Barcelona, Chelsea

:Headline: Wednesday's Champions League predictions including Liverpool, Barcelona, Chelsea:
Sports Mole provides score predictions for all eight of Wednesday night's Champions League games, including Liverpool vs. Napoli and Barcelona vs. Borussia Dortmund.

Valencia vs. Chelsea (Wednesday, 5.55pm)

Chelsea travel to Spain to face Valencia knowing that they need to avoid defeat in order to remain in a top-two position in Group H.

However, Valencia welcome the Premier League giants aware that completing the double over the Blues will put them on the brink of qualifying for the Champions League last 16.

We say: Valencia 2-1 Chelsea

Both clubs have shown their qualities and frailties this season, which makes this contest a difficult one to call. However, Valencia are generally a tough outfit to beat at The Mestalla, and they could edge this game in the closing stages.

Zenit St Petersburg vs. Lyon (Wednesday, 5.55pm)

Lyon make the trip to Russia to take on Zenit St Petersburg knowing that victory will be enough to earn a spot in the Champions League last 16.

However, sitting just three points adrift of the French outfit in Group G, Zenit are aware that a win will take them above Wednesday's opponents due to their head-to-head record.

We say: Zenit St Petersburg 2-1 Lyon

We are expecting a tense affair in Russia as both teams look for the result which could ultimately make the difference in two weeks time. However, home advantage could play its part here, and Zenit may capitalise to edge a tight contest.

Barcelona vs. Borussia Dortmund (Wednesday, 8pm)

Barcelona welcome Borussia Dortmund to Camp Nou on Wednesday night knowing that victory will secure top spot in Group F with a game to spare.

However, defeat to Dortmund would not only put the Bundesliga outfit in first place, it may potentially leave Barcelona needing to avoid defeat against Inter Milan at San Siro in order to qualify for the Champions League last 16.

We say: Barcelona 3-1 Borussia Dortmund

Barcelona have generally raised their game when they have needed to this season, and we see no reason why they will not do the same here. With Dortmund also struggling for form, the home team should be able to record a relatively comfortable victory.

Genk vs. Red Bull Salzburg (Wednesday, 8pm)

Red Bull Salzburg will be hoping to close the gap to the top two in Champions League Group E when they face struggling Genk in Belgium on Wednesday.

The group's most prolific attack face the side with the most porous defence in an encounter that will surely produce goals.

We say: Genk 1-4 Red Bull Salzburg

Salzburg need a win to put pressure on Napoli ahead of them and, given the outcome of their last meeting, Salzburg could run away with this one again and rack up a convincing scoreline.

Lille vs. Ajax (Wednesday, 8pm)

Ajax are embroiled in a fierce battle with Chelsea and Valencia for qualification from Champions League Group H.

The Eredivisie side are level on points with their two rivals in the group, but Lille are cut adrift at the bottom with just one point from their four games.

We say: Lille 1-3 Ajax

Lille are struggling at present while last season's semi-finalists are flying and have lost just one game all season. Expect Ten Hag's team to brush their faltering opponents aside once again, playing some lovely football in the process.

Liverpool vs. Napoli (Wednesday, 8pm)

Liverpool could book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a game to spare when they welcome Napoli to Anfield on Wednesday night.

The holders will secure top spot in Group E with victory, but Napoli are the only team to beat them inside normal time this season and know that a win of their own would also secure their place in the knockout rounds.

We say: Liverpool 2-1 Napoli

Napoli have found it difficult to win games in recent weeks, and there is arguably no place harder to visit than Anfield at the moment. However, they have also not been losing games regularly so it would be a surprise if Liverpool blew them away on Wednesday. It may be a familiar story for the Reds - a close-fought encounter, but ultimately another win.

RB Leipzig vs. Benfica (Wednesday, 8pm)

RB Leipzig play host to Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night knowing that a draw will be enough to earn a place in the last 16 of the competition.

As for the visitors, they are likely to require back-to-back victories in order to progress as runners-up in Group G.

We say: RB Leipzig 3-1 Benfica

We can only see one winner here. RB Leipzig are regarded as the dark horses in this competition and they will relish the chance to seal their place in the knockout stages with a game to spare. Benfica, on the other end, have shown too many frailties in their previous outings.

Slavia Prague vs. Inter Milan (Wednesday, 8pm)

Inter Milan face a crunch trip to Slavia Prague as they bid to rescue their Champions League campaign.

The Nerazzurri find themselves three points off a qualification place in Group F - widely billed as this year's 'group of death' - and need a win to realistically keep their chances of qualifying alive.

We say: Slavia Prague 0-1 Inter Milan

Given Slavia Prague's impressive defensive record, they certainly won't make life easy for Conte's Inter and could well hold them to another draw. However, that result would be disastrous for the Nerazzurri's Champions League hopes and that desperation may just be enough to get the Serie A outfit over the line for a narrow win.
