Derby County boss Wayne Rooney tempted to take Burnley job?

Derby County boss Wayne Rooney may reportedly become tempted to take the Burnley job if it is offered to him at the end of the season.

Derby County boss Wayne Rooney has reportedly not ruled out taking the Burnley job at the end of the season.

Despite overseeing the Rams' relegation to League One, Rooney's stock has risen due to points deductions ultimately sending the club down to the third tier rather than their performances on the pitch.

Earlier this month, the England legend suggested that he had every intention of leading the East Midlands outfit next season, providing that the club's takeover goes through as planned.

However, according to The Sun, Rooney is not totally against becoming the next manager of Burnley should it be offered to him over the coming weeks.

As it stands, the Clarets are attempting to remain in the Premier League, but interim boss Mike Jackson has guided the club to seven points from three games against West Ham United, Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The report claims that the 36-year-old would still be interested in making the switch to Turf Moor even if the North West outfit were relegated to the Championship. body check tags ::
