The Nigeria international impressed for Midtjylland in their Champions League group stage last season and he chipped in with one goal and an assist to help the side finish runners-up in the Danish Superliga.

Bees boss Thomas Frank is looking to strengthen his squad as the club are about to embark on their first-ever season in the Premier League, following Championship playoff success in May.

Sky Sports News reports that an agreement between the two clubs should be simple as Midtjylland are Brentford's sister club in Denmark, and both sides are owned by Matthew Benham.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder came through Midtjylland's academy but Frank is said to believe that he is ready for a move to England.

Onyeka made his first-team debut in 2017 and has gone on to score 17 goals and provide 10 assists in 123 appearances for the Danish club. body check tags ::
