Former Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves heaps praise on Erling Braut Haaland after his goal for Borussia Dortmund against Schalke 04 on Saturday afternoon.

Owen Hargreaves has described Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland as "an absolute goal machine".

As the Bundesliga made its return after a two-month absence, Haaland wasted no time in adding his 13th strike for the German outfit since signing in January, netting the opener in a 4-0 victory over Schalke 04.

Although the 20-year-old did not score during the second half at the Westfalenstadion, Hargreaves was quick to praise the Norway international's predatory instincts.

Speaking to BT Sport, the former Bayern Munich man said: "He's still got it. The kid is an absolute goal-scoring machine. It is quite strange missing the fans, but a bit of quality from Dortmund - [Achraf Hakimi] is in a brilliant position, which allows [Julian] Brant to get into that space.

"That flick is a dream. A terrific ball and Haaland is just a machine. The run - everything about it is just perfect. And that finish is not easy; he makes it look so easy.

"He's a brilliant goalscorer. That touch, that ball is perfect. And that finish is extraordinary."

Having played a game more than leaders Bayern Munich, Dortmund sit just one point adrift of top spot in the Bundesliga table.
