Sergio Aguero 'has injury clause which could terminate Barcelona contract'

:Headline: Sergio Aguero 'has injury clause which could terminate Barcelona contract':
A supposed 'injury clause' in Sergio Aguero's Barcelona deal could reportedly see the Argentine's contract terminated as he prepares for a 10-week spell on the sidelines.

Sergio Aguero's Barcelona career could supposedly be over before it has even begun due to an injury clause in his contract.

The Argentine's final season at Manchester City was marred by injuries, but he proved his fitness during his final Premier League game with a brace against Everton.

However, Barcelona confirmed earlier this week that Aguero has suffered an injury to his right calf, one which is expected to keep him sidelined for the next 10 weeks.

According to Spanish journalists Adrian Sanchez and Alejandro Carrasco on the Mas Que Pelotas podcast, Barca inserted the 'injury clause' into the striker's deal, which allows it to be terminated if his fitness woes prevent him playing enough matches.

Aguero was also alleged to have wanted out of Barcelona following Lionel Messi's departure, although subsequent reports instead claimed that he has no intention of leaving.

The 33-year-old featured on just 21 occasions for Man City in the 2020-21 season, and he missed 41 games for the club through injury or illness during his final two years at the Etihad. body check tags ::
