Neymar adds fuel to the fire regarding Lionel Messi's future by insisting that he must reunite with his former Barcelona teammate next season.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has fuelled speculation over Lionel Messi's future by stating that he wants to reunite with his former Barcelona teammate next season.

Messi came close to leaving Camp Nou in the summer only to reverse his decision after a dispute regarding his release clause, but the six-time Ballon d'Or winner is now in the final year of his deal with the Catalan giants.

PSG have been one of the clubs linked with a sensational swoop for Messi, while Neymar has also been tipped to complete a switch back to Barcelona in recent months.

The Brazilian has now hinted that one of those scenarios could happen, saying in quotes attributed to ESPN: "What I want most of all is to play with Messi again, to be able to enjoy him once again on the pitch.

"He can play in my place, I have no problem with that! But I want to play with him next year, for sure. We have to do it next season."

Neymar played a starring role in PSG's victory at Old Trafford in the Champions League, scoring two goals as the French champions ran out 3-1 winners against Manchester United on Wednesday evening. body check tags ::
