Bayern Munich 'would consider Robert Lewandowski sale if they find replacement'

Bayern Munich will reportedly consider selling Robert Lewandowski this summer if they can find a replacement for the legendary forward.

Bayern Munich are reportedly open to parting ways with Robert Lewandowski during the summer transfer window.

At the weekend, the legendary forward confirmed that he would not be signing a new contract at the Allianz Arena, his desire to take on a new challenge elsewhere.

Despite Lewandowski's recent comments, Bayern officials have consistently stated that the 33-year-old would not be allowed to leave ahead of 2022-23.

However, according to Sport1, their stance may change if they are able to find a suitable replacement for a player who has scored 344 goals in eight seasons.

Although they stand to make a significant sum should they part ways with their key player, the report hints that Bayern are prepared to lose Lewandowski on a free transfer in 2023 if they are not successful in securing an alternative.

Barcelona are said to be waiting in the wings, the Catalan giants allegedly having to have a three-year contract on the table if a fee can be agreed with Bayern. body check tags ::
