Report: Arsenal hold talks with Jordan Veretout

A report claims that Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Jordan Veretout by holding talks with the Fiorentina midfielder's agent.

Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout is the latest midfielder to be linked with a summer transfer to Arsenal.

The Gunners are looking to replace Aaron Ramsey, who is to join Juventus as a free agent ahead of next season.

A number of players have already been mentioned in the gossip columns, including the likes of Hoffenheim ace Kerem Demirbay and Eibar's Joan Jordan.

Calciomercato suggests that Veretout is also a possible target, despite making little impact during his time in English football with Aston Villa, where he spent just a year before moving away.

Veretout's agent is rumoured to have attended Arsenal's meting with Napoli at the Emirates Stadium last week to discuss a move.

Since arriving at Fiorentina in July 2017, the former France Under-21s international has made 64 Serie A appearances.
