A report claims that Real Madrid-owned midfielder Martin Odegaard would like to play for Liverpool one day in what could be a big transfer blow for Arsenal.

Arsenal loanee Martin Odegaard will reportedly consider joining Liverpool in the summer if the Reds step forward with a formal offer.

The Norway international has spent the past three months on loan at the Emirates Stadium from Real Madrid, where he struggled for minutes under Zinedine Zidane.

Madrid are believed to be ready to cash in on Odegaard while his stock is high, the 22-year-old having impressed across his 14 appearances with Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta has already hinted that the Gunners will try to sign the midfielder permanently, but Spanish outlet AS suggests that competition may be provided by Liverpool.

Odegaard previously described Liverpool as his "dream club" and is said to be keen to play for the reigning Premier League champions at some point.

Madrid are supposedly holding out for a bid of around £50m for the Stromsgodset academy product. body check tags ::
