Liverpool and Arsenal are both interested in signing teenage Portuguese goalkeeper Ricardo van der Laan, according to a report.

The 17-year-old has featured a handful of times for Belenenses' Under-23s side this season and has been tipped for big things in his homeland.

Portuguese outlet O Jogo reports that Premier League champions Liverpool have sent scouts to watch Van der Laan and received positive feedback.

Arsenal are also said to be looking to snap up the youngster, who has just one year to run on his existing deal.

Former Benfica product Van der Laan has represented Portugal at age-grade level but also qualifies for the Netherlands.
