Flamengo midfielder Gerson is on Arsenal's radar ahead of the summer transfer window, according to the player's father Marcos Santos.

Gerson's father has revealed that Arsenal are looking to sign the Flamengo midfielder, while Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund have also made enquiries.

The 22-year-old emerged as a rumoured target for European clubs ahead of the January transfer window after catching the eye in the Brazilian top flight and Club World Cup.

Gerson struggled during his previous spell in European football with Roma and Fiorentina, but he has got his career back on track over the past 12 months and is now on Arsenal's radar.

"Nobody knew about Arsenal, but now that I'm telling you so everyone will know," Marcos Santos told ESPN.

Asked specifically about rumours linking his son with Dortmund and Spurs, Santos replied: "Everyone you hear there is true. But they only probed."

Gerson made a combined 82 appearances for Roma and Fiorentina before returning to Brazil with Flamengo in July 2019. body check tags ::
