Arsenal have allegedly offered William Saliba to Manchester City as part of a player-plus-cash deal for Raheem Sterling.

The England international's contract at the Etihad is due to expire in the summer of 2023, and talks over an extension with the Premier League champions are yet to bear fruit.

Having worked with Sterling during his time as Pep Guardiola's assistant, Mikel Arteta is supposedly keen to reunite with the 26-year-old - who has also been linked with Barcelona - at the Emirates.

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal have proposed a player-plus-cash deal to City, with Saliba one of three players on offer to Guardiola's side as well as Gabriel Martinelli and Alexandre Lacazette.

Saliba is yet to make a first-team appearance for Arsenal and is currently in his third loan spell away from the club with Marseille, but a recent report indicated that he would be handed opportunities at senior level next term.

The 20-year-old has played the full 90 minutes in seven Ligue 1 games this season already, while Sterling has only started two Premier League matches in the 2021-22 campaign so far. body check tags ::
