Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Mat Ryan on a permanent deal in the summer.

The Australian international joined the Gunners in January on loan until the end of this season and has since impressed manager Mikel Arteta, who is keen to see the 29-year-old stay at the club.

According to Football Insider, talks between both clubs are progressing well and they are edging closer to agreeing a fee, believed to be less than the £10m valuation that Brighton were asking for earlier this season.

Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has now established himself as Brighton's number one, and head coach Graham Potter is willing to see Ryan leave the club this summer.

Ryan, who has been capped 58 times by the Australian national team, joined the Seagulls from La Liga side Valencia back in 2017.

He has made over 120 appearances for Brighton, including 11 this campaign, and also kept 27 clean sheets in the Premier League.
