Alex Iwobi: 'I may leave if Wilfried Zaha joins'

Alex Iwobi admits that he could look leave Arsenal if the Gunners sign Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha this summer.

Arsenal attacker Alex Iwobi has conceded that he could look for a move away from the Emirates Stadium if the Gunners complete a move for Wilfried Zaha ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Zaha has been strongly linked with a move to Unai Emery's side in this summer's transfer window, with the attacker said to be desperate to join the English giants.

Iwobi could find his minutes limited if the Ivory Coast international moves to the Emirates and the 23-year-old has warned Arsenal that he could look for a departure.

"I am not one to chicken out. I have had it all over the years, being told I'm not good enough. So whenever the chance comes I always try and prove I should be starting. But it's going to be difficult if Zaha comes. He will add more stress," Iwobi told The Sun.

"I am up for the fight but the only time I would consider leaving is if I am not playing as much as I would like to. Obviously, my joy is to play football and not just sit out. If it comes to that I would have no choice but to leave."

Iwobi scored six times in 51 appearances for the Gunners during the 2018-19 campaign, while he is just one short of 150 games for the capital club in all competitions.
