Arsenal technical director Edu has reportedly begun negotiations to bring Brazil manager Tite to the club.

The Gunners' current head coach Mikel Arteta has less than 18 months left to run on his existing deal at the Emirates but is widely expected to be offered a new contract as the club push for a return to the Champions League.

Arteta has been linked with a move away from North London in recent weeks, though, with Paris Saint-Germain supposedly identifying the Spaniard as an ideal replacement for Mauricio Pochettino.

Now, TV Globo journalist Eric Faria has claimed that Edu is already starting to work on bringing in Tite as a possible replacement, with the Brazil boss set to step down from his Selecao post after the 2022 World Cup.

"There is already a negotiation of Tite to work in English football. To work at Arsenal. He worked with Edu Gaspar. There is the intention, negotiations have started," Faria told reporters, as quoted by ESPN.

Tite has won 53 of his 71 games in charge of Brazil - claiming the 2019 Copa America title - and the 60-year-old is understood to enjoy a strong personal relationship with Edu having worked alongside his compatriot with the Selecao and Corinthians. body check tags ::
