Former defender Martin Keown has claimed that Bukayo Saka is currently playing better than Arsenal's club-record signing Nicolas Pepe.

The Gunners opted to pay £72m for Pepe during the summer transfer window, and the Ivory Coast international has contributed two assists from his three starts and three substitute outings in all competitions.

However, Keown feels that the 24-year-old is currently being upstaged by academy graduate Saka, who netted a long-range strike in Arsenal's 3-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Speaking after the game, Keown told BT Sport: "You think of the way Pepe's playing at the moment, they paid £72m for him, and this kid looks better than him tonight."

On Saka's goal, the club legend added: "Look at this for composure. It's a beautiful finish. 18 years of age, unbelievable."

Saka was making just his fifth senior appearance for the Premier League outfit.
