Arsenal will head to Spain on Thursday night to face Villarreal in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.

The Gunners impressively overcame Slavia Prague in the quarter-finals of the competition and will play the first leg of their last-four clash at Estadio de la Ceramica before welcoming the La Liga club to the Emirates Stadium for the return fixture on May 6.

Mikel Arteta's side will enter the match off the back of a disappointing result in the Premier League, suffering a 1-0 home defeat to Everton on Friday evening.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Unai Emery's side.

David Luiz

Possible return date: May 1 (vs. Newcastle United)

David Luiz has not appeared for Arsenal since undergoing a knee operation at the start of the month; the centre-back is on course to appear before the end of the campaign, though.

Possible return date: April 29 (vs. Villarreal)

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was recently hospitalised after contracting malaria, but the Gabon international is on the road to recovery and could potentially be involved in this match if he returns to full training next week.

Alexandre Lacazette

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 29 (vs. Villarreal)

Alexandre Lacazette did not feature against Everton on Friday evening due to the hamstring problem that he picked up against Fulham. The Frenchman has not been officially ruled out of this contest, but he faces a race to be ready for the European contest.

Possible return date: Unknown

Key defender Kieran Tierney injured his hamstring against Liverpool at the start of the month and faces a battle to be ready before the end of the campaign.
