Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Argentina could line up for their CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup qualifier with Chile on Friday.

Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni is expected to name a strong starting lineup for Friday's World Cup qualifier against Chile.

The 43-year-old has used different formations in each of their opening four matches so far, and may decide to adjust again and adopt a 4-4-2 setup for this game.

Scaloni will also have to decide on which goalkeeper is to start. Franco Armani has played in all four qualifiers so far, however, a brilliant season for Emiliano Martinez at Aston Villa could see him given the nod on Friday.

River Plate right-back Gonzalo Montiel, who has also started in all four qualifiers, is expected to keep his place in the first XI, despite Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth impressing during his loan spell at Europa League winners Villarreal.

One of Lucas Martinez Quarta or Lisandro Martinez is set to start at centre-back alongside Nicolas Otamendi, while Nicolas Tagliafico is likely to play at left-back.

Paris Saint-Germain duo Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes could both feature in the starting lineup, with the former operating on the right wing and the latter in central midfield.

Rodrigo De Paul may join Paredes in the middle of the pitch, with experienced winger Marcos Acuna likely to play on the left flank.

Norwich City playmaker Emiliano Buendia, who has received his first international call-up, is hoping to make his debut on Friday, though the 24-year-old is set to begin as a substitute.

Both Lautaro Martinez and talisman Lionel Messi are expected lead the line in attack, while the latter's new Barcelona teammate Sergio Aguero could make an impact from the bench.

Argentina possible starting lineup: E.Martinez; Montiel, Martinez Quarta, Otamendi, Tagliafico; Di Maria, Paredes, De Paul, Acuna; L.Martinez, Messi body check tags ::
