Channel 4 recommissions Steph's Packed Lunch throughout 2022.

Steph McGovern's lunchtime Channel 4 show Steph's Packed Lunch has been renewed through 2022.

The series - launched in September 2020 - has steadily built up a loyal audience in its weekday 12.30pm slot, doubling its year-on-year share, and is the flagship programme to come out of C4's new base in Leeds.

"I love making Steph's Packed Lunch!" said McGovern. "It's so nice to work alongside my fab onscreen family and the amazing team who graft so hard behind the scenes.

"Together we've done some great things I'm really proud of; from encouraging women to have a smear test – I even had mine live on TV! – to helping people get back into work through our Job Clinic.

"We've tackled so many real issues that affect all our lives, welcomed so many big celeb names to Leeds Dock and met shed loads of inspirational people. I'm buzzing that we're going to keep doing it next year!"

The news comes days after series producer Vivek Sharma announced his departure from the show to take up a role at new channel TalkTV.
