James Corden is reportedly in the final throes of negotiations for a new two-year, £15m deal with US broadcaster CBS.

James Corden is reportedly on the verge of agreeing a new two-year deal to remain with US broadcaster CBS.

The comedian made the move Stateside six years ago to host the network's The Late Late Show and has since become a familiar face on US television at large.

Corden's deal with CBS expires next year and according to The Sun, executives have offered him a deal worth £7.5m a year - £15m in total - to extend his contract.

"CBS has no plan B, James is their guy and who they see staying with them," a source told the newspaper.

"He is one of the faces of the network, he fronts a massively successful show and drives lots of traffic to them online. The figures that are being discussed are around £15m for two years.

"That may sound a lot, but James brings so much to the table for CBS. Unlike his rivals, his online segments, including Carpool Karaoke and Crosswalk Musical, are huge global web hits, making huge revenues on top."

Corden's current deal is thought to be worth £5m a year and the new arrangement would see him eclipse Ant and Dec as the highest-paid British presenter on TV.
