England's win over Croatia at Euro 2020 peaked with a huge audience of 11.56m (79.2%) on Sunday, according to early figures.

Overall, coverage of the game, which was settled by a Raheem Sterling second-half goal, averaged 7.61m (67.1%) for BBC One between 1pm and 4.30pm.

The peak audience came at 3.45pm in the closing stages of the match.

Ratings figures do not account for the many millions more who would have been watching the game in pubs, clubs and other non-household settings.

Later on, ITV had decent ratings for its two Euro games of the day, with coverage of Austria's win over North Macedonia drawing 2.52m (23.9%) between 4.15pm and 7.10pm.

The Netherlands' 3-2 victory over the Ukraine managed 3.95m (25.8%) between 7.10pm and 10.15pm.
