Giles Coren has claimed that he knows someone who has already been cast in Line of Duty series seven despite the show's apparently-uncertain future.
The sixth series of the cop drama concluded on Sunday night with a record overnight figure of 12.8 million viewers, while also appearing to wrap up the show's main mystery.
Show creator Jed Mercurio has not yet committed to a new series, while in a statement on Sunday, BBC chief content officer Charlotte Moore said that she was keen to begin talks on the "future" of the show.
In a now-deleted tweet, however, food critic and BBC presenter Coren seemed to suggest that planning is already well underway behind the scenes, writing: "A friend of mine was cast in series 7 last week. There's no secret."
Coren has not since commented on the matter or explained why he removed the tweet
