GB News announces plans to begin each day's programming with a rendition of the national anthem.

GB News has announced that it will begin playing the national anthem at the start of each day's programming.

'God Save The Queen' will air at 5.59am daily, just before the GB News breakfast show, starting tomorrow (January 18).

"We always promised we would celebrate what's good about our country when we can, and The Queen's 70-year reign is definitely worth celebrating," said Michael Booker, editorial director at GB News.

"We've chosen an uplifting instrumental version which, for our television viewers, will feature stunning scenes from across the UK. We think it's a lovely way to start the day."

The news comes a week after Conservative MP Andrew Rosindell suggested in the House of Commons that the BBC should be required to broadcast the anthem every day.
