Michael van Gerwen wins his first Premier League event of 2022 by beating Peter Wright by a 6-0 scoreline in the week four final.

Michael van Gerwen has produced his best results of the year to win week four of the Premier League.

The Dutchman had only registered two semi-final appearances from the opening three weeks, but he dropped just three legs in emerging victorious in Exeter.

Having followed a 6-1 demolition of Jonny Clayton with a 6-2 success over Michael Smith, Van Gerwen made light work of a below-par Peter Wright in the final.

Although an average of 99.1 was his lowest of the evening, Van Gerwen hit four 180s on the way to a 6-0 triumph, Wright averaging just 87.52.

The world number two had previously got to the final courtesy of beating Gerwyn Price and James Wade, both by a scoreline of 6-2.

Joe Cullen and Gary Anderson bowed out in the quarter-finals, losing in close games to Smith and Wade respectively. body check tags ::
