Sports Mole is in the market for a new signing to join our team as a features and live commentary writer.

The Position

Feature and live commentary reporters are home-based and paid at a rate of £7.50 per hour on a self-employed basis. Availability on busy evenings and weekends are a pre-requisite for any application.

The Applicant

Successful applicants will have:

• A flair for writing quickly, accurately and creatively within the overall house style.
• Strong self-subediting skills.
• A passion for and deep-rooted knowledge of sport, especially football. Any specific interest in sports other than football should be highlighted in the application.
• A fast and reliable home internet connection and access to an alternative connection in the event of the former being unavailable.
• Access to sports channels is essential.

This is an ideal first role for current students or recent graduates looking to develop a career in journalism.

Hours

Features are allocated on a monthly basis. Allocation in a given month is variable and dependent on availability within the wider team. In general, applicants who are available during peak times - weekends and evenings - will be preferred.
